Scratch StockPosted: November 5, 2012
Squared off corner of blade steel.
Partially finished profile, out of focus,
Then a quick lapping on a sharpening stone to decrease the burr. Not pictured.
Scrap beech for a holder. Quick stuff here, just to experiment.
Slightly undersized holes and countersink.
Bolts threaded into beech well. Cutter in place.
A little at a time. Scratching away to a profile.
In pine. Soft wood but easy for the grain to pull cutter.
Practicing on both sides of board.
In maple. Harder wood but more consistent.
